On September 2nd, 2023, the heart of London, Trafalgar Square, bore witness to a spectacular celebration of talent and culture at the groundbreaking Black on the Square 2023 festival. This extraordinary event paid homage to the rich tapestry of Black creativity and culture, with WeAfric represented by Henry Otim and Henock Hailemariam, who were captured alongside Mayor Sadiq Khan. Among the distinguished guests were the charismatic Getnet Kassa and the esteemed Senior Account Managers from The Voice, alongside Belvin from the African Centre.
Mayor's Vision: Celebrating Vibrant Black British Cultures
The anticipation for this cultural extravaganza was electric, with Mayor Sadiq Khan himself gracing the event. Mayor Khan passionately expressed, "This event united Londoners from all corners of the capital to revel in the vibrant tapestry of Black British cultures."
WeAfric's Shine: The Team's Gratitude
Henry Otim, WeAfric's Marketing & Product Manager, extended heartfelt gratitude for the invitation, generously offered by Getnet Kassa, (pictured below on the right), of The Voice, a staunch advocate for progress within the African diaspora community. The festival was a one-day odyssey designed to cater to families, where attendees savoured mouthwatering Caribbean and African cuisine while exploring artisan treasures, from bespoke accessories to handcrafted homeware and gifts.
